As someone in a different season of life than you are (as in WAY past), I want to say that you will NEVER regret being intentional about these moments. I love hearing of young parents being present...nicely done, sir. You will have children who adore you for it!

Yes. I wish I had done that more often and sooner

Beautiful. This reminds me of when I walked my daughter to her first kindergarten class. At that moment, noticing how quickly five years had just slipped by, I realized how the next few years will slip by, too, and suddenly she'll be graduating. Thank you for writing this and reminding all of us to slow down and be present.

The subtle, steady whisper of "this way" is so difficult to hear over the noise of urgency. Thanks for the nudge to lean in (or away from) and listen for it.

And these pictures...so precious.

Thank you for sharing this life lesson, Blake! The importance of being present is something I've learnt from losing a loved one and from being a parent - both of which have taught me that we don't get do-overs. You never get those moments back. There is so much to be gained from being fully present with those you love. Of course, it's not realistic all the time. The to-do list is never-ending! But I try my best to soak in the little moments of joy, beauty and connection now, more than ever.

Blake I love this. One of the only moments in my life where I'm 100% in the moment is at jiu-jitsu practice. Damn. That'll make anyone forget about EVERYTHING real quick. I struggle with this a lot as well and find it very relatable. Sometimes I try to remind myself on days off "Tom, you got nowhere to be, man. You got nothing planned. Just slow down."

Blake, this was really beautiful. I think this art of slowing down and just being, is so needed for our health and wellbeing, and for our ability to drink in the moments of everyday life that many of us fail to grasp as precious. I know I am reminding myself to be quiet enough to hear the whispers of Wisdom. I am getting better at it. Thank you for this lovely reminder.

Few things beckon our whole self into presence the way meaningful, everyday moments with our kids do <3 & first day of school energy is anything but “everyday”. I’m halfway through kindergarten with my oldest, and every sunrise drop-off and reunion pickup honestly feel like some of the most meaningful moments of my day. How wonderful to stay and relish in those big feelings.

It’s so great that you were both able to be there with Lottie on her first day. Looking back, my husband regrets a lot of the things he missed out on with our daughter because of work and as we all know, you never get the opportunity with things like this to do them again.

This post really made me reflect and be in the moment at the same time - thanks Blake ☺️

This is so so good, Blake! I believe in the beauty of slowing ourselves down, too. Being present and taking in the moments before us is such a precious gift we get to give to ourselves, and to others, more than we may realize sometimes.

Thank you for this beautiful reminder. 🙏🏾♥️

Such lovely wisdom here. It is so tough to stay in the present moment - but when we can, it is sublime. I will have your phrase of "be here now" echoing in my head this week - thank you!
